long gone are the highway roads
in this barren land
of only bones and sand
as soon as the deserts rose
sudden darkness thrives
no more signs of life
can’t tell if its day or night
under dust-filled skies
sun and moon disguised
i feel no more seasons change
every reason shades
as my light fades
the edge of the world ahead, pitch-black void
the end of all roads, no way back
the edge of the world to come, no more no avoidance
exposed to the contention
running out of gas and tears
merely one mile left
to this fateful cleft
at last i have failed you both
so my weary soul
is devoured whole
still living through memories
ever-searing pain
was my love insane?
hush hush little runaway
beyond these falls
sweet silence calls
no more turning back
no more roles to act
this is where no one returns
no more hide and seek
no more words to speak
‘cause this is where no one escapes
could this be where my wounds mend?
no more dawning days
no more hunt and prey
this is where no one survives
no more tears of rust
one last breath of dust
ghosts of my past are awaiting
crying for vengeance today
BBT are standard bearers for modern prog, with a sound that evokes the spirit of those legendary 70s bands whilst managing to also be thoroughly contemporary. It's astonishing that over 30 minutes of music of this quality, with such high production values, is being made available for free - and their full albums are also very reasonably priced... Absolutely hooked on this album from first listen. How rare is that with prog!??? Excellent songwriting and musicianship. Can’t wait to dive into the rest of the collection. Thomas Lock
