father take me down the river
to the places where our ancestors were born
and while we're looking at the shoreline
teach me what is right and what is true
tell me all about the powers,
that give us life and death and hope when we are torn
cause daddy just within this season
i will be grown so please tell me what to do
tell me what to do, who to be
cause the power of my destiny
was vested in me
help me set it free
you tell me i might have to take a life.
and pray to all our fathers for his soul.
if so he will never leave my side
will become part of me, in cause and consequence
i will find a good girl and make her mine
and when i loose my heart i gain one in exchange
what if she would bear my only son,
looking up to me and asking what to do.
BBT are standard bearers for modern prog, with a sound that evokes the spirit of those legendary 70s bands whilst managing to also be thoroughly contemporary. It's astonishing that over 30 minutes of music of this quality, with such high production values, is being made available for free - and their full albums are also very reasonably priced... Absolutely hooked on this album from first listen. How rare is that with prog!??? Excellent songwriting and musicianship. Can’t wait to dive into the rest of the collection. Thomas Lock
