another night
another sleepless night to lie awake
gazing eyes
while my thoughts are drifting fears arise
in this moonlit night
this world is casting clouds within my heart
darkness seeps
into my lungs and drowns me as you sleep
but when i close my eyes
taking one deep breath
i feel your soothing light
my memories turning scattered fragments unresolved – a scene untold
a face familiar coming to light - exile the night
[father:]
“this world is in crisis
relentless
but i guess
it will never be the same and you're to blame
amber light bearing hope my son”
another night
another sleepless night to lie awake
empty space
i will never make it up to you
under grinding skies
my love is blinded by a pitch-black fear
silence creeps
into my ears and numbs me as you sleep
ein dampfross donnert über land und felder,
mit wehklag' aus dem druckbehälter.
dicker qualm staubt aus den nüstern,
leise hört den wind man flüstern:
"lass nach, lass nach, weshalb beeilen,
willst nicht eines orts verweilen?"
"niemals! das rasten kenn ich nicht,"
so forsch das rußig rösslein spricht.
"in meinem leib trag ich zwei herrn,
der eine lieb, ich mag ihn gern;
den zweiten treibt ein andres herz,
funkelt schwarz wie pech und erz"
erst in des mondlicht voller pracht,
steigen in der wälder dunkle nacht
die männlein aus dem ross-gerippe
gerade zu in richtung klippe
"der grund für unsrer reise plage
ist schauplatz greiser kindertage"
„brüderlein, fleh mich zu (ver)schon,“
die augen weit "wo ist mein sohn?"
vom wangenrand tropft eine zähre,
"kein morgen das ich dir gewähre!"
ein lauter schrei, gespenstergleich,
die seele aus dem herrn entweicht.
déjà vu
lyrics: moser
music: kunkel
a steamhorse thunders over land and fields,
with wailing from the pressure vessel.
thick smoke dusting from the nostrils,
softly one hears the wind whisper:
"let it go, let it go, why hurry,
do you not want to stay in one place? "
"never! I do not know rest,"
so rashly speaks the sooty horse.
"In my womb I carry two gentlemen,
the one is dear, I like him;
the second one is of another heart,
he sparkles black as pitch and ore "
only in the moonlight full of splendor,
the men climb in the dark night of the woods
from the ribs of the horse
straight towards the cliff
"the reason for this exhausting trip
is the venue of old children's days "
"Brother, I you plead to spare me"
the eyes opened wide "where is my son?"
from the edge of the cheek, a tear drop falls
"I grant you no tomorrow!"
a loud scream, ghostlike,
the soul escapes from the man.
BBT are standard bearers for modern prog, with a sound that evokes the spirit of those legendary 70s bands whilst managing to also be thoroughly contemporary. It's astonishing that over 30 minutes of music of this quality, with such high production values, is being made available for free - and their full albums are also very reasonably priced... Absolutely hooked on this album from first listen. How rare is that with prog!??? Excellent songwriting and musicianship. Can’t wait to dive into the rest of the collection. Thomas Lock
